The 9575 Extreme's voice, SMS and GPS tracking capabilities can be used anywhere in the world on Iridium's new NEXT network. The 9575 offers the fully integrated services of customizable GPS, online tracking (extra monthly fee) and emergency SOS with notification services. The 9575 Extreme is lighter and smaller than its predecessor, the 9555. In addition to offering Iridium's global coverage for voice, data and SMS it is also the first satellite phone to offer the fully integrated services of customizable GPS, online tracking and emergency SOS with notification services. Other features of the handset include a IP65 rating meaning the 9575 Extreme is dust proof, shock resistant and water resistant. It is also the first handset to offer military-grade 810F durability. Not all mobile networks allow you to send text messages to satellite phones, but with Iridium, you can receive incoming text messages for free.
Two-stage dialing for incoming calls allows for local US based dialing into the 9575 handset anywhere in the world!
